The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently going to the Fernie 2 Group Hall in Mpuluzi to render providers to the community.
SASSA will be rendering solutions for example new social grant applications, change of payment method, client treatment enquiries, together with the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.
In a press release, the agency reported it is alarmed with regards to the significant range of people depending on social grants for survival.
“The intention with the Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out to the significant amount of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.
“This is because of the lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there is no absolutely functional office committed to service the area on a regular basis. The provider stage created for intervention ordeals a substantial influx of opportunity beneficiaries, SRD which makes it difficult for that office to attend to all people who visit a service point.
“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise more resources to empower the servicing of all shoppers and increase use of Social Assistance products and services,” the agency said.
